On December 12, 2024, a beginner erhu player, TAKUROMAN, held his first street live performance after 100 days of practice in Shinjuku Kabukicho. On the day of the event, despite the interaction with the audience and unexpected happenings, he brought healing and inspiration to the people. A documentary video documenting this challenge has been completed. Furthermore, we are planning to hold virtual concerts on the Metaverse in the future, aiming to provide a new kind of musical experience.

BACKGROUND
TAKUROMAN began practicing on September 3, 2024 after taking a trial lesson at an erhu school. In order to deliver music that would accompany the loneliness and stress of the city, he tried his first live performance on the road in only 100 days, with the thought that “there are things that can only be conveyed when you are not good at it. The recordings were made into a video and shared widely through digital platforms such as SNS.

The day of the event
Despite the strong winds and unexpected happenings, such as audience members holding up the tapestry and music sheets, TAKUROMAN created a sense of unity with the audience, saying “I was able to convey what I wanted to say” and expressing his gratitude. The live performance was also streamed live online via Instagram and TikTok.

To commemorate our first live street performance, we have created a new character. He is NIKOROMAN, an erhu player character. He will appear as an icon of TAKUROMAN's activities as an erhu player.
